Italian: Marinara Sauce -

Marinara Sauce

Recipe Ingredients:

3Tbspolive oil
2clovegarlic, chopped fine
2tsponion, chopped fine
1can(28oz) plum tomatoes
1tspfresh oregano, chopped fine
1tspItalian parsley, chopped fine
1/8tspfresh ground pepper

Recipe Instructions:

1.   Pour plum tomatoes into bowl and using fingers squeeze until most of the lumps are out.
Note: If it contains basil, chop fine and add back to tomatoes.
2.   Season tomatoes with salt, oregano, parsley and ground pepper.
3.   Heat in 3-quart saucepot, 3 tablespoons olive oil on medium heat (#5). Add the chopped onion and garlic. Cook until starting to brown. Add slowly, stirring constantly the tomato mixture.
4.   Cook uncovered about 15 minutes or until thickened, stirring frequently.
Note: You may want to lower the heat to about #3 after 5 minutes.

Note: If sauce becomes too thick, you may add a little bit of water.
