Glazed Ham
Recipe Ingredients:
1 | (4 lb) fully cooked, boneless ham half | |
1/3 | cup | firmly packed light brown sugar |
1/3 | cup | orange juice or bourbon |
peel of one orange, grated | ||
1/4 | tsp | ground allspice |
1/8 | tsp | ground cloves |
Recipe Instructions:
1. | Preheat oven to 325F. Place ham on a rack in a roasting pan. Insert a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the ham. Bake, uncovered, 20 minutes per pound or until the internal temperature reaches 125F. |
2. | For glaze, in small saucepan over medium-low heat, simmer brown sugar, orange juice, orange peel, allspice, and cloves for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. |
3. | Brush glaze over ham. Bake ham for 20 to 30 minutes more or until thermometer reaches 135F. Let stand for 15 minutes before carving. (The temperature will rise 5 degrees during standing.) |
