Cider-Braised Pork Chops

Recipe Ingredients:

4center-cut pork chops, cut 3/4 inch thick
2tspvegetable oil
1cupcider or apple juice
2mediumcooking apples, cored & cut into wedges
1mediumonion, cut into thin wedges
1/4tspcrumbled sage


Recipe Instructions:

1.   Trim fat from chops, if necessary. Season chops with salt and pepper. In large skillet brown chops in oil, about 4 to 5 minutes per side. Spoon off fat.
2.   Add cider, apples, onion, and sage. Cover and simmer 25 minutes, or until chops are tender.
3.   Transfer chops and apple mixture to serving platter. Simmer pan juices until slightly thickened, about 3 to 5 minutes. Spoon over chops and apples.
