Whole Wheat Biscuits

Recipe Ingredients:

3tspbaking powder
1cupwhole wheat flour
1/4cupsolid shortening

Recipe Instructions:

1.   Combine dry ingredients with shortening until coarse like crumbs. In a bowl, bake a well. Add milk all at once. Stir quickly with fork only until dough follows fork around bowl.
2.   Turn dough onto lightly floured surface.
Knead gently 10 - 11 strokes (1/2 minute).
Roll or pat dough 1/2 inch thick. Dip biscuit cutter in flour and cut straight down - no twisting!
3.   Bake on non-greased baking sheet at 450 degrees for 12 - 15 minutes. Yield: 16 biscuits.
